You don’t need to be a bartender to make this retro cocktail look great – brilliant red grenadine is thick and syrupy, so it naturally sinks to the bottom and slowly rises to create the stunning sunrise effect. Just be sure to avoid stirring once it’s added so the layers stay intact.

How to make

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup (83 mL)pulp-free orange juice
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL)silver or white tequila (1 oz)
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL)grenadine
  • 3/4 cup (188 mL)PC® Black Label Blood Orange Sparkling Beverage

How to make

  • Step 1Fill stemless wine glass or highball glass halfway with ice. Add orange juice and tequila; stir to combine. Add grenadine and top with sparkling beverage. Garnish with grapes or orange slice (if using).
  • Try this: Store-bought orange juice works well for this recipe, but if you have a few extra minutes and a fresh orange, try fresh-squeezed juice. One orange yields about 1/3 cup (83 mL) juice – exactly what you need for this recipe. If you have a fine-mesh strainer, use it to remove any pulp, but it’s not totally necessary.
